Methods of Instruction Options
Frequently Asked Questions regarding Virtual Learning Option

The Lamar R-I School District's goal is to provide high-quality instruction and learning opportunities in a clean and safe environment for students and staff. The District’s intent is to begin in-person school on August 24th following a regular school schedule day. There will be extensive safety precautions as outlined in our Reentry Plan.
If parents/guardians are concerned for your child’s safety, you will have the option to enroll your child in Lamar's online virtual platform. The method of virtual instruction will be different from what was offered this spring. Virtual students will be expected to spend multiple hours working in the program during the school day to meet academic requirements. While we understand there are special circumstances that justify the decision to choose virtual learning, we believe it is best for the academic, social and emotional wellbeing of students to attend school in person. Additional information will follow in the coming weeks.
We recognize there might be changes to our plans based on the rate of transmission in our community and the guidance from health officials.

School Information and Resources

TIGERS: We miss you and care about you!  Over the past couple of weeks, teachers have attempted to contact all of our Tigers by phone, email or regular mail.  If you have not heard from your student’s teacher it may be because we do not have updated contact information. Please contact your student’s building and let us know how to reach you or your student.  See numbers below.

Our priority will always be education and caring for our students.  Each Monday by noon all teachers will be providing optional educational activities or resources for students. These are optional activities, however, are a great way for you or your student to stay actively involved in continued education during the school closure!  Activities & resources will look different in each building and for each Tiger. Our mission is to continue to provide learning options for all grade levels. Please use the following Learning Activities Dashboard for a list of where to find these activities at each building.  Thank you for your continued support!

Second Semester Grades:

Regular LHS classes and one-hour LCTC classes will be credit/no credit (pass/fail) this semester.  This will not affect GPA. Students who are not passing have the opportunity to do remediation with their teacher to improve their grade. Dual Credit classes will follow guidelines set by MSSU.

3-hour LCTC students will receive the grade they had at the end of 3rd Quarter, March 6.  However, students can work with their instructor to improve that grade, if desired. Certification tests will still be offered at a later date.
